Vianca Ortega Commits
Commitment Announcement: Vianca Ortega Joins SUNY Morrisville!
Exciting news for the Dallas Stars Elite family—Vianca Ortega is heading to SUNY Morrisville! The El Paso, Texas native has officially committed to continuing her hockey career while pursuing a degree in Business Administration, beginning in Fall 2025.
Vianca, daughter of Blanca and Jorge Ortega, has spent the past three seasons as a dedicated and hardworking member of the DSE program. Her strong work ethic and passion for the game have set her apart, making her a key player on the ice.
One of her most cherished memories from her time with DSE is winning the district championship and celebrating with her teammates—a moment that exemplifies the camaraderie and success she has experienced throughout her journey.
Beyond hockey, Vianca has another special talent—she makes her mom’s salsa just as well as the original recipe!
"Vianca Ortega is one of the most skilled players to emerge from El Paso’s hockey scene. She seamlessly transitioned from forward to defense, establishing herself as a cornerstone of our 19U team. ‘V’ leads with heart, always putting her teammates first and fostering a positive culture in the locker room. Her impact on DSE has been immense, and I have no doubt she’ll excel at the collegiate level.
¡Felicidades, Vianca! Ha sido un placer tenerte en nuestro programa y te deseamos todo lo mejor en tu próximo capítulo."
